2011 in 2011 – 2011 in Review

Here’s the highlights of breakdown of my activities in 2011.

  • I ran 2011 miles – I “Ran the Year”.
  • I ran two marathons – Boston in April and Grandmas in June.
  • I did my first non-sprint triathlon – Square Lake 1/2 Ironman in September.
  • Things worked out in December with the weather and my work – it was beautiful and I wasn’t too busy at work, so I ran a lot – lots and lots.  The weather was unbelievable!

Those were some pretty odd circumstances that worked on in my favor to run 2011 in 2011 – I got very lucky.

Here’s the monthly running mileage breakdown (inspired by Dexter the Punisher and Steve in a Speedo – also note the big push at the end):

Here’s the numbers breakdown:

  • Running: 210 runs for 2011.07 miles in 275 hours 8 minutes 23 seconds.
  • Biking: 28 Rides for 527.77 miles in 31 hours 46 minutes and 27 seconds
  • Biking on Trainer/Spin bike:  6 times for 225 minutes
  • Swimming: 21 times for 637.5 minutes and 25750 meters
  • Rowing on a machine: 3 times for 95 minutes

Here’s an even further breakdown of my running (I think of things like this as I run)

  • 2011 miles
  • 210 runs
  • Averaged 9.58 miles per run
  • Averaged 38.67 miles per week
  • 275 hours 8 minutes 23 seconds of running
  • 3 days I ran twice in the same day
  • 56.71% of the days I ran (207/365)
  • Longest week – Monday – Sunday 66.03  (this is what I use to measure)
  • Longest week (any seven day stretch) – 83.06 (Dec 16 – 22)
  • 13 runs 20 miles or more – one of those on the treadmill
  • Longest Run – Boston Marathon 26.36
  • Shortest Run – 0.77 miles on 9/6/2011 – my hamstring was bugging me and Square Lake Triathalon was on 9/11/11.
  • 215.2 miles on the treadmill – 10.70% of total miles
